Celebrate Mary 3/3: Mary, Woman of Strength

John 19: 25-27
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he sad to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home

“Do not forget that there is always a great connection between hope and listening. And Mary is a woman who listens, who welcomes life as it is given to us with its happy days, but also with its tragedies. Mary’s supreme night, when her Son was nailed to the wood of the Cross, mothers do not betray. In that moment at the foot of the Cross, none of us can say which was the more cruel passion: that of an innocent man dying on the gallows of the Cross, or the agony of a mother accompanying the last moments of her Son’s life. The Gospels only tell us: she was there. She stood there in the worst moment, in the cruel moment, and she suffered with her Son. For this reason, we all love her as a Mother.
