For, as the rain and the snow come down from the sky and do not return before having watered the earth, fertilizing it and making it germinate to provide seed for the sower and food to eat, so it is with the word that goes from my mouth: it will not return to me unfulfilled or before having carried out my good pleasure and having achieved what it was sent to do.
Isaiah 55:10-11
The word of God is something alive and active: it cuts more incisively than any two-edged sword: it can seek out the place where soul is divided from
spirit, or joints from marrow; it can pass judgement on secret emotions and thoughts. No created thing is hidden from him; everything is uncovered and stretched full open to the eves of the one to whom we must give account of ourselves
Hebrews 4:12-13
Humbly welcome the Word which has been planted in you and can save your souls. But you must do what the Word tells you and not just listen to it and deceive yourselves. Anyone who listens to the word and takes no acton is like someone who looks at his own features in a mirror and. once he has seen what he looks like, goes off and immediately forgets it. But anyone who looks steadily at the perfect law of freedom and keeps to it - not listening and forgetting but putting it into practice - will be blessed in every undertaking.
James 1:22-25
They were overcome when they saw him, and his mother said to him,
'My child, why have you done this to us? See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you.' Why were you looking for me?' he replied. 'Did you not know that I must be busy with my Father's affairs? But they did not understand what he meant. He then went down with them and came to Nazareth and lived under their authority.
