Praying with the Psalms II 4/5: Our Help Comes from God

by Sr. Monika

Passages:

Psalm 120 – Our Help Comes from God

I lift up my eyes to the mountains:
From where shall come my help?
My help shall come from the Lord
Who made heaven and earth.

May He never allow you to stumble!
Let Him sleep not, your guard.
No, He sleeps not nor slumbers, Israel’s guard.

The Lord is your guard and your shade;
At your right hand, He stands.
By day the sun shall not smite you
Nor the moon in the night.

The Lord will guard you from evil,
He will guard your soul.
The Lord will guard your going and coming
Both now and forever.

While the younger son was still a long way off, his father caught sight of him, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him.
(Lk 15:20)

Jesus, looking at the rich young man, loved him…
(Mk 10:21)

Jesus said to the disciples, “For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come: … greed, malice, deceit, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.”
(Mk 7:21-22)

Reflections:

Read the Word of God slowly and enter into dialogue with Him. Let us look to God and find Him, our guardian, looking back at us in love.
